Last week, from June 25-27, the 32nd International Conference of the Spanish Academy of Management (ACEDE) 2023 was held in Alicante. The event, which this year focused on “Business, Strategy, and Sustainability in a Global World”, had more than 400 attendees. During the event, the members of the LIDEERA research team were able to share ideas with other researchers, receive feedback on their ongoing work, and listen to prestigious international speakers such as Giovanni Schiuma, Rob van Tulder, and Emma Parry.

We highlight the participation of our colleague Juan P. Maícas, Editor-in-Chief of the BRQ-Business Research Quarterly journal and president of the Strategic Management division in ACEDE who, during the event, had the opportunity to participate as an invited speaker at the round table “Assessing the quality of Management research in Spain”, a particularly relevant topic in that moment, together with Javier Oliver Villarroya (AVAP), Carmen Camelo (ANECA) and Jaume Valls Pasola (AQU Catalunya).

In addition, our colleagues Elisabet Garrido and Minerva González (in their research work with Professor Mirko Benischke) received the Best Paper Award from the International Management Division, for the work “Emerging multinationals escaping from pro-market reversals“. In that research study, they analyze the mechanisms behind the escape of foreign direct investment under pro-market reversals (deterioration in the pro-market institutions).
